Vision & Mission of ECHO 8 Adventure Learning & Fitness

The Vision...

The vision of ECHO 8 is to inspire a new generation of young leaders who are health conscious, environmentally aware, and empowered to make a positive impact within their own lives and in their community.

The Mission...

The mission of ECHO 8 is to inspire participants in leading the next generation to improve overall health and fitness and to become stewards of the natural world. ECHO 8 programs will provide valuable training and education in nutrition, first aid, exercise science, & outdoor skills in a fun and challenging environment of adventure-learning activities, team-building and leadership exercises, and environmental service projects. Participants will build self-efficacy as they learn and meet the challenges of ECHO 8 programs. We strive to give participants the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to travel and play in the outdoors safely and responsibly. Our hope is that participants will foster a love for the outdoors and develop new interests that will lead them to a healthy and active lifestyle.

ECHO 8 Principles

- respect the Environment
- Challenge your abilities
- achieve optimal Health
- get Outside and play
- amplify your 8th intelligence

What is 8th Intelligence?

To simply put it, it's a Naturalistic Intelligence...or, in other words...Nature Smart!
It can be defined as a strong affinity to the outside world (animals, rocks, trees, etc.)

Brady Campbell

Brady Campbell describes himself as an alpinist who likes the physical and technical challenges of climbing high peaks. Brady worked for two years as a guide and field leader for an adventure-therapy program for at-risk youth. There he led expeditions throughout Utah in rock climbing, mountaineering, backpacking, mountain biking, canyoneering, skiing, etc. He also trained staff in technical skills and safety. Brady has worked extensively with youth. He has a bachelor’s degree in music education and spent six years teaching band and choir to both middle and high school students. Brady is an avid runner and has over eight years of experience coaching track and cross-country. Brady is a goal-oriented individual. In addition to his outdoor and physical pursuits, Brady is a good cook, and (to the disbelief of most who know him) has an amazing tenor voice. Fundamentally, though, Brady remains a teacher who loves sharing his skills and a love for the outdoors with students. Brady is certified in Avalanche Safety: Level II, First Aid, CPR, and is a Wilderness First Responder.
